New York

Emptiness is the feeling when you kissed me goodbye, for the first time in a while as I dropped you off at school.

Empty is how the house felt on Tuesday when I was home alone. Not the sad kind of empty but the tranquil, peaceful kind.

‘Empty your mind, empty your thoughts’ our yoga teacher instructed on Thursday.

Breathe in, expand your chests, fill your lungs with air. Then release, breathe out, empty your lungs. Repeat.

Empty was this cup of tea during lunch on Friday, waiting for its refill.
